We bought a new induction brewpot! Got all set up on brew day to do a brew in bag (another first) and got our water going toward strike temps….only to get stalled at 85 degrees when the cooktop crapped out.  Well back to the electric stove, but the new kettle is too tall, so the stove had to be pulled out. Needless to say there is a propane burner in our future.Im totally through with brewing on a glasstop electric stove. Maintaining an accurate mash is damned near impossible so our Sweet Stout will be pretty sweet and not too boozy. Live and learn for sure. New brew kettle is rad and will be a welcome edition to the fleet,  many more brew in bags to come.

The following weekend I did a solo extract(Pumpkin Porter) brew on the side burner of out gas grill.  Temps were easy to maintain, although getting even the small boil (2.5 gallons) was a bit of a struggle.  Retirement Fund Brewing simply requires MOAR BTU’s.
